- Employees covered by the Texas Minimum Wage Act must get a written earnings statement each pay period showing their name, rate of pay, total pay earned, each deduction and its purpose, net pay, and hours worked (or units produced for piece work). It may be in any form, including the check voucher. That Act does not apply to employees covered by the federal FLSA, which is most employees, and the Texas Payday Law does not itself require a pay stub.Source
